Градоначальник города Де Рибас сделал праздник именно 2 сентября неслучайно. Француз очень увлекался астрологией и по совету более опытного наставника в данной научной деятельности День рождения города ему следует сделать именно 2 сентября, так как под знаком Девы Одесса приобретет самое удачлевое "покровительство звезд" и будет одним из самых известных, успешных и красивых городов мира, Одессу мало затронут различные катаклизмы и она фактически не пострадает от войн.
